چکیده
Hypermobile Ehlers–Danlos syndrome (hEDS) and hypermobility spectrum disorders (HSD) are underdiagnosed hereditary connective tissue requiring health care across specialties. Using mixed methods, we explored how parents have experienced children’s for hEDS/HSD. Surveyed (N = 297) reported varying experiences, though professional understanding was negatively appraised by most parents. Themes identified from interviews (n 13) were: (1) awareness fundamental, (2) the importance of therapeutic relationship, (3) limitations healthcare systems, (4) diagnostic labels meaningful. متن کاملSpectrum of mucocutaneous manifestations in 277 patients with joint hypermobility syndrome/Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, hypermobility type.
Cutaneous manifestations are a diagnostic criterion of Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, hypermobility type (EDS-HT) and joint hypermobility syndrome (JHS). These two conditions, originally considered different disorders, are now accepted as clinically indistinguishable and often segregate as a single-familial trait. EDS-HT and JHS are still exclusion diagnoses not supported by any specific laboratory te...
متن کاملLiving with joint hypermobility syndrome: patient experiences of diagnosis, referral and self-care
BACKGROUND Musculoskeletal problems are common reasons for seeking primary health care. It has been suggested that many people with 'everyday' non-inflammatory musculoskeletal problems may have undiagnosed joint hypermobility syndrome (JHS), a complex multi-systemic condition. JHS is characterized by joint laxity, pain, fatigue and a wide range of other symptoms. Physiotherapy is usually the pr...

BACKGROUND Children with Joint Hypermobility Syndrome (JHS) have reduced knee joint proprioceptive acuity compared to peers. Altered proprioception at end of range in individuals with JHS is hypothesised to contribute to recurrent joint injuries and instability. This study aims to provide the first objective comparison of functional knee joint proprioceptive acuity in hyperextension range compa...
